I’m Miriam, a behavioral occupational therapist, author, speaker, director of three OT practices, mother of five boys, and grandmother to two adorable grandchildren.
Raising kids is challenging, and I get that. With a handful of kids of my own, I’ve navigated it all from the terrible twos to the tumultuous teens. But challenging doesn’t mean impossible. With the right tools, you can confidently guide your child through every stage of life and cherish the incredible journey of parenting.
My story begins long before I was born. In 1963, my grandparents founded HASC in New York— one of the first schools and camps in the United States dedicated to children and adults with special needs. Growing up with this profound awareness of others' needs, I pursued a degree in occupational therapy, focusing on children with behavioral issues. In 2012, I founded The Thrive Group to bring my vision to life, providing comprehensive support to the whole family. The rest, as they say, is history.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, parents faced unprecedented challenges. With a warm drink in one hand, a slab of chocolate in the other, and my favorite fluffy slippers on, I set out to turn a dream into reality—giving you a behavioral OT in your pocket. Today, that dream is OTIYP (formerly Bloom).
OTIYP is not just about learning—it’s about transformation. I am excited to support you every step of the way.
